No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandfather showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental comments from others kill his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
He began competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders in each game of poker and always strives to get better.
Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
