No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to learn anything he could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.

Phil began playing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a teaching experience and winning was not a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying passion for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. He admits to making blunders every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
