No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandfather taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. He would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from others kill his goal of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a normal thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated a number of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing passion for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a normal basis.
