NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five where he loved betting on various card games at a young age. He discovered himself becoming very competitive in these particular card games as he was playing his dad. After graduating from secondary school, Howard made a decision to put college on hold for a bit and headed to New York to compete in some formidable chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s initial two years were rough as he played many hours and do not win a majority of the time. He made some extra money by being an assistant for the poker players. He theorized he possibly could improve his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He brought about an effort to acquire more rest and concentrate more on poker.
The real improvement in his game began when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best gamblers would regularly challenge one another. He was able to access a number of the foremost minds in chess. With their help, he would hone his logical thinking techniques. He used these strategic ideas in the game of NL Texas Holdem.
Howard also assisted his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was a great student of poker as she would always be asking questions about how to make the correct choice. Howard Lederer told Annie to move out to Sin City and play in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the greatest women players the poker arena today. Howard Lederer moved to Las Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and competed in money games for the next decade. When the World Poker Tournament gained popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
