No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse comments from other people destroy his dream of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

He started playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated many of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for poker. He states that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
